Ground point for amp in truck. Pics please.

I just finished reading the "what is a proper ground" posting. For me it's overkill to run a ground back to the battery. Someone mentioned that the spare tire kit mounting bolt was good but I can't seem to find a picture of the location.

If anyone is grounded to this spare tire kit bolt, can I see a picture or get an accurate description of the location? Apparently, even if we don't have a spare tire kit this bolt exists.... true?

Oh and while I'm at it, when I re connect my ground after installing my power wire, do I have to reset the steering with the turn left turn right thing? How exactly is this done? With the engine on or with the key in just ACC?

Just searched and there are a million different answers besides "ground back to the battery".

yup there is.

basically just make sure you find a good bolt - scrape the paint off and give it a test from the ground sticky. if you think it's ok, then use it.

for me i wanted the peace of mind just running it back to the trunk, and i had some heat problems that a poor ground would cause.

running it back to the battery isn't that much work if you already have the power ran.
