Question Head Unit recomendations

I'm thinking about getting a Corksport kit and replacing my HU.

My question is, is there a HU that meets my wants?
  • I have factory navigation, I have given up on ever getting a new set of maps newer than 2005 so I want a HU with navigation and DVD while I am at it.
  • The HU would need output to a external 7" screen for both DVD and Navigation. (I'll replace the factory screen)
  • The HU does not need to have a big screen on it because I'll use the external screen but it needs to be fully functional without using the external screen.

I really want it to look clean. My other option is a CarPC but I am not sure how I like the integration options. I'd prefer a solution where everything is unified. Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I looked at the D3, but I couldn't confirm if it is possible to display navigation on the external screen. My understanding is that the D1 and D2 could but they don't support DVD video playback. I'd also like it if I could display radio functions or DVD controls on the HU and DVD or Navigation on the external screen. This isn't critical but it would be a nice touch.

I'm not sure if that is possible with any single unit that is out right now, what I've seen people do is run a carputer and have each monitor as its own "desktop", so you control each one individually same as on a regular Windows pc (forgot the name of the app they were using, but I'm sure it would be easy to find as there are millions of multi desktop apps out there).
You could also have multiple head units as well, as some of the people I've seen at the car shows I compete in do the same thing you're trying to do only they use half din dvd units to have different movies/videos playing on different screens at different times etc. Makes it look like they have more than what they have I guess
