heat problem inside my 8:( Help!!

hey guys, i live in socal and i am furious with my 8 right now. It is unbelievably hot over here and for some reason my car starts to blow hot air into the car. even tho my setting for the air to come in is the COLDEST SETTING. when i have the ac on to blow from the top, it blows hot air from the feet. also, is everyone's 8 really hot inside? it seems like my 8 heats up really badly because i feel the heat inside my car. so if anyone has any ideas wat is wrong with my car pleaseeeee help me. btw should i take it to the dealership?

I don't have that problem :knock on wood:, but the best advice I can give is to go to the dealer, and have them take a look, because summers get real hot, esp if you live in socal... good luck

I have that problem and I live in Canada! haha... It's a known issue, if you want to call it that, with the 8. Just try a few searches...

well it does blow cold air if the ac is on. but ONLY WHERE ITS ON. damn it juss pisses me off that my car gets so damn hot inside even with my ac on because it blows cold air from the upper air conditioner fans and hot one from the bottom ones. even if my ac is off, it slightly blows hot air. I think it also has to do wit the engine being under us and the heat juss rising and coming inside the car. I mean, where my cup holder is, it seems like its a little microwave in there. all this hot air i can feel.

Push he button that switches from outside air to inside air. If you turn off the outside air coming in it will no longer feed the hot air comming off the engine into the cabin. I have the same problem in my 8. my advice is to go to the dealership and have them work on it. others on this site have had A/C issues like this and it should be covered under warranty. I am not doing anything with mine since I am trading it in for a new 8.

I don't know what's wrong.. all i can tell you is mine doesn't do that. My car blows whatever i turn the **** to whether i have the fan on or not. so when it's hot i have to drive with it turned to cold and vica vera - there is no "off" setting. and it does seem to blow more when i'm on the highway. I haven't looked around to see if this is a common problem because it isn't that big of a deal to me.. maybe someone else has come across this.. I'd take it to the dealer if it were me though.

Lets see,,hot in Socal. Hmmmmmm.
It was 115 here yesterday and my A/C works fine. In both inside air and outside air mode.
I turn the outlet settings to dash vents only.
Dont feel any hot air from anywhere.
If I were you I would take it to the dealer and say something about it.

The center console, by the shifter near the legs, gets extremely hot after the car has been running for some time. I've heard of stories of people even getting their legs burned. They're old stories though. But whatever.. it emits heat like crazy and the vents blows hot air when the AC is not on. Did you do a search? Hundreds of posts regarding this....

I drove my 8 around all day in +80 degrees of heat yesterday and found that the fan will run hot air at the begining until you start to pick up speed and can suck in cooler air. Also I do not have the ac blowing on both my legs and head, I consider that a winter setting to heat your legs. I'd just keep the setting to the top half of your body.

Has anyone else noticed that the inside of the center console gets really hot?

OMFG!

Why don't you discuss the fuel mileage, low power and the cracked defrost button while you are at it?

You know, someone spent time on those FAQs for a reason. Maybe you should read them.

Werd, its been over 100 dozens of times so far this year here, and my AC works. Take your ride to the shop.

I have a black car and leaving it in the sun as oppose to the shade make a big different as to how hot the car will be when driving it. I know this sounds like a "Duhh...you think" statement but I have owned a lot of black cars and the 8 real retains the heat longer then others. Once its hot its hard to cool off.

I own a black 8 too and i've notice it does get hot and stay hot for a while, also the hot air blowing in. what i do fot it, i "flush" the A?C system by letting the cold air blow for a while then turn the ac off and i can actually feel cool air blowing in. Also most times i just open the sunroof and one window to let the hot air out. But i've been thinking about taking it to the dealer a couple of times to have it checked.

bwahahaha, FAK ME, now that is funny. Sorry to laugh at someone else's expense but that is exactly what I needed after a long morning of bending underneath dashboards.

The engine throws off a lot of heat and so does the tranmission. The air conditioning on a lot of 04's was not very strong. I have an 05 now and the air conditioning is better but it does take awhile to cool the car down when it has been sitting in the sun. Dark exterior color, black and tan interior = heat retention. I had a light tint put on the side and back windows and that helped. Bottom line is the air conditioning is okay on the 05 and up but it doesn't spit ice cubes like the bigger units in v8 cars.
