If they can't fix it you'll have to take it to the dealer and whoever installed your system should be liable for the bill.

I had the same problem when I installed my M3 player. There was no lights in the large display. I found the small wire on the top left was connected but not fully insterted. I had to take every thing part and reconnect. If you are not using the original radio head unit the display will not work it is connected to it. Like I said it is the smallest of the connectors plugged into the top of the head unit.

What shop was this in miami? Just wondering. I know my shop did just fine... they could probably fix it for you and charge a little bit. Then it will save you trouble of going to dealer. Where in Miami was this?

I had the same problem. Take the factory radio out and check all the wire harnesses.

If the shop who installed his system is at fault, why would you advocate "sticking" it to the Mazda dealer by trying to claim it as a warranty repair? Isn't anyone honest anymore?

its all good now!!1

ok they finally figure it out, apparently and I quote "there is something like a motherboard in the back of the radio and connections were not all the way in" I picked it up today and it has some kicking *** sound, I was so relief, they were going to pay for the repairs if need it, but you know that's just a hasle and I have a hard time getting time off work, I achtually took a day off to take care of the Tints and Sound system... it took a lillte longer than that but it was all worth it. I will post some picks tomorrow to see what you guys think...

The store was brandsmart, the intaller was real good and did a clean job, little problem but it was his first RX-8.

The only thing I didn't like was the fm modulator for my ipod it doesn't sound like I expected, but its ok...

They never sound good. There's not much you can do about that...

Sorry I missed the orginal question as I espereinced the same thing the last time I took my head unit out. I removed the piano black cover from the head unit to put my new heating/cooling system switches in. When I put it all back together, same results you described. I too it all apart and noticed that there are some connectors in the center of the piaon black plate that have to seed correctly in the head unit. I had managed to secure all the screws and not get this connected. I heard it snap the second time and all went well. If they had to removed your piano black face plate, I woudl bet these are the "computer connections" they were talking about.

Glad you got it fixed.
