Help with Audio System

I have 2 subs and 2 1800watt amps and they arent hitting as hard as they should. Would this be b/c of the Stock CD Player and if I got a aftermarket player would it hit hard like a Pioneer or a Sony?

That would be a no to the cap issue. Good bass response is all about the box first and foremost. Next it is the proper integration into the vehicle by means of amp, wiring, power supply and in your case, integration into the factory system. There are numberous threads started on this topic, do a search to find them.

Watt?

...1800 watt x 2?
That's just insane....and I don't mean that in a good way.

No worries dude, nothing to be sorry about. Questions like this, please post the equipment by brand and model# and how it is wired together. IE: what guage wire is used, where it is grounded to etc. The more info that is posted, the easier a problem is to diagnose. A true honest to god 1800 watt amplifier, will have almost 200 amps of fusing in it, how large are your amps fuses?

is that a real 1800 watts, or are you running cheaper quality equipment that claim 1800? Not to start anything, but I'm sure we've all seen "boss" or"pyramid" amps that were rated at ridiculous wattages, only to find out they were way off. Now if you're running high dollar legit amps, and you have the correct enlosure, there might be a signal/ground problem, or sometimes even the way you have the woofers facing can make a difference. (yes I know bass is omni-directional or whatever the term is, but it still can be affected by which way the woofers fire and what they're bouncing off of etc..) I've read elsewhere on this forum that these cars have an inherit grounding issue so you may want to doublecheck all that to start.

Sony does not hit hard! The stock 100 amp alternator will not be able to give enough amperage to the amps to produce 1800rms x2.Try using a line driver, it'll give you a better signal than using the stock cd unit.
