HELP - getting 6XS and Amp to play nice
Hello all..
I have all my hardware installed, powered and my last step is getting the proper signals routed.
I have an Alpine MRV-F 545 and an AudioControl 6XS unit.... ripped out my factory bose hardware. and routed the 4 lines from the head unit ( cut, spliced, soldered) into some RCA jacks that are inputted into the 6XS unit all nice and neat like.
This is my first ever audio job and if i can figure out this part I will have everything SET
Whats confusing me is my amp has 4 channels of input (as seen in the pic)
But how do i wire the outputs from my 6XS (shown below - i photoshopped the lables and some numbers on it for clairty)
My problem is when I hooked it up the rear's worked perfect, however the fronts were only getting either ALL low frequencies, or ALL high frequencies. And all i know is the 8 channel output of the 6XS is confusing me beyond all. If there were a kind and genius soul that might know what the problem was could you tell me what connectors go to which inputs on my amp? I took the liberty of labelling the connectors on my 6XS picture for ease of explanation such that you could say "1 goes to Ch-1 input, etc etc.
Here is one more pic of the top of the amp - I made sure that my input was set to 1+3/2+4 and that all the filters were OFF. My rears were working great its just getting all 4 sets of speakers going at once is the problem.
Thanks in advance.

thank you for the the input - it was helpful.
I was really wondering though about how i should hookup the output from the 6XS though? whats confusing me is the fact that there is front highpass, front lowpass, and then subwoofer.
I Just want simple stereo output (left and right) since the input for my system is a simple Ipod and mp3s that are just stereo.
One semi related question - the 4 sets of speaker outputs on my amp (ch1,2,3,4) speaker outs.... those are only designed for ONE set of speakers right? Thats what I'm assuming.

I personally have a 6XS and have no problems w/ it. Need a little more info. What are you trying to run off of the amp? Front, Rear, Subs? The 6XS is very simple, so shouldn't be a problem to help out.

you need to change the front high pass crossover module to a lower figure, more like 80 or 90 hz, or maybe even lower, you can go to audio control's website and get info on building your own crossover modules here, and use the front highpass output for your front channels.
unless you are bi amping your front stage, the 6xs is a little bit of overkill. audiocontrol's LC6i would be a better choice for your application
