It is located on the back right upper side of the head unit. You have to go after it from under the dashboard on the drivers side while contorting your body into positions that it was not designed to do. Ensure that you have a flashlight so as to see it. The bolt that is there slides along and buts up against a plastic barrier to keep it from moving.

Thanks guys.... since no one bothered to help at all, I spent 5 hrs trying to get out a bolt I described above, pulled the *#($ out of the radio and nothing. So I give up... oh, not only that, but after reassembling my car... the center HUD isnt working.

I took the same bolt out at first. That's not the one you need. There's a metal shield you can take out to see the bolt more easily. It's pictured in the third picture here http://www.whatsmyip.org/ipodrx8/4.php There's two screws holding the metal shield on, one of which is visible in that third picture.

Good luck.

It is a 9MM bolt that will come out with a ratchet wrench with extension. Put a small piece of tape or something to hold the bolt in the socket otherwise if it falls good luck finding again! The problem is getting your body under the steering wheel to remove it. You need to lie on your back so you can see up into the radio rack area. Not good if you have back problems like me!! Also helps if you have someone there to hold a light.

Not on the steering column. It literally screws into the side of the radio.

You are talking about taking off the metal bracket, right? The bolt should be visible and easier to access once that metal piece is off. If you have trouble you can narrow your search area to the depth and height of the radio. In other words, since it screws into the side of the radio, there's only a small area in which the bolt can be. You can figure it out by estimating how deep and tall the radio is when it's installed, and searching that area.

If my car wasn't in the shop I'd try to take a pic for you.

I used a 10mm ratchet and didn't need an extension.
