Help with Shock Sensor Wiring

The instructions that came with the unit are pretty much useless. I used the DIY on this forum and thought I had everything wired up right but I can't get a shock to set the alarm off. I played with the sensitivity of it and still nada??? I also noticed that there were two black/yellow wires, which one is right? I have done alot of reading on here and can't get it to work....Help!

I will attach some pics of the wiring. Note it is a 2006

I'm looking dude, but it's been awhile and it's hard to see what is where in the pics, I have to study it for awhile and orient myself with your pics. I'm a liitle scared as it looks like you have used the wrong wiring harness.
I have an 05, but it should be the same. Can I ask you what color wires come out of your black sensor block? Is that the wiring coming from the right hand side in photo one? The Orange, red, black, and brown coming out of the black wrap right in front of the diode?

From what I have seen the '04-'05 wiring is set up differently.....I believe

The wires I tapped are above the 14 pin harness. The pics are just above it.

The blue-red (red tap wire) and black-yellow (orange tap) run to a 14 pin harness.

I hooked my black ground (black tap) to a 5 pin ground harness.

Pretty sure I have the diode hooked up the correct way. (brown wirn cut and brown tap wire)

I zipped the sensor to a bunch of wires running along the A/C unit I believe.

The LED on the sensor lights up when I tap it.......but when I set the alarm and try to trip the sensor it doesn't set it off???

Damn those Mazda directions......waste of a tree!

04-07 all have the same wire color, the ONLY different is that, 04 is the most *opened* one, meaning it has WAY less tapes all over the wiring harness. 05 has a bit more, but nothing scary (mine)

06 is where the problem started.

07 even more crazy.

Why did Mazda do that ? I dont know. Maybe they dont want people to play with their wiring ?

My car went into the dealership this morning so I cant check for sure right now(probably wont be back until thursday)

and like my PM said, it seems that you tap into the wrong harness. Im not 100% sure cuz I did my wiring almost a year ago. I found that I tapped into the wrong one on the final inspection(before I reconnect my battery)

I relocated it, connect the battery, and it works on the first time.

Wait a minute.

Im not 100% sure so dont get angry ok ?

How did you tap your diode wire ? Cuz from the picture it seems that you tap it into the harness that goes into the *white* big connector. if my memory is functional, that was NOT the spot to tap the wire to.

the correct right brown wire was a fuxking Bitch to find, its all the way inside the other set of harness that goes to the black Remote control module box by the firewall. Its somewhere inside, Look up.

Also, tap the ground wire to the ground connector where all the black wire goes, its somewhere near the door. not to the other wires.

Well that sucks......that was the only brown wire I saw. I know it doesnt run into the white 14 pin connector to the right. Not sure if it runs into the 24pin connector to the right.

Might have to remove a bunch of tape????

I would love to see a pic if thats possible....the DIY didn't cut it

See my post for wire location. I posted it in that post just because I know the brown wire location ITS A BITCH to find, and very easy to *misunderstand* the wrong wire on the other Harness.

*edited for link location*

Thats how mine is....at least i think

I just have mine cleaned up yet.

Which side is your diode on? Is is pointing to the left or right?

I tried to use that pic when wiring everything up.

The bunch of wires I tapped were in the corner. to the left was the fire wall and to the right would be the wheel well in the pics...

If I can see your car in person, Im pretty sure I can fix it up for ya. Too bad you're in Texas.

Hmm, You see the black box up in my pic, thats where you should tap your wires to (at least the brown wire)

as far as I can remember, the brown wire was really short, only like maybe couple of inches exposed, between the connector up to the *tape madness*. I was afraid to cut it at first cuz at that time I had nothing to *connect it back* if its wrong. I took a brave pill and cut it, tap it, fix it up, connect the battery, and it worked !

Thanks for jumping in here nycgps! The sites been down for a few days and I haven't been able to get back on and help. I do think he's got the wrong brown wire as I first said in my original reply. I was gonna do some more research when I got home today and maybe take some pics, but let's see if he still needs them.
I was like you.........I looked at that friggin brown wire for about 4 hours off and on before I finally decided with some level of confidence that I would go ahead and cut it. Mainly because as you said, there's not much length and getting in there to solder it back together really would have been a bitch!

Yes..............if you are now sure you found the right one. Also, be careful about which way the diode connects. I don't have the instructions with me here at work, so don't take this a gospel, but make sure the end with the label goes towards the Keyless Control Module and the other end(without label) goes to the vehicle harness. I can reconfirm that when I get home if need be.

You could.

You can also get one of those wire taps that look like the ones in your kit to *connect* the wrong wire back together. It cost like what 50 cents each ? then use some electrical tape wrap it around.

as much as I can remember theres only 2 brown wires around that whole area ... so if its not that one, it must be the other one.

I think maybe its time for Mazda to include some REAL pictures in their instruction ...

I'm not gettin home for another hour and a half from work, but I think the diode is supposed to face the black key box. I will read the instruction AGAIN before I do this so I should be good.

Thanks guys for the help

uh.....wtf......my car doesnt have a black box like yours.

Does that mean my car doesn't have the alarm????? I checked first by sitting in my car locking it with the key fob and the opening the door and it went off??? So what the hell.

I am gonna feel like a tard if my car doesnt have the alarm!

I am looking in the right place. It looks like an empty slot perfect for that key box.

Do you have Advance keyless entry ?

What your key look like? a card size, or a key fob(press the button key pop out)

It doesnt really matter, your box could be gray, or black, even purple !(just kidding on that)

That box is more like a box who controls your door's *open and shut down* operation. and it communicates with the ECU.

Cawl in a bit more, Im pretty sure you have the same thing.

I dont have the GT keyless unit. Just the flip key.

There is no box where yours sits. Just an empty slot. Man I'm confused and it shouldnt be this hard.

There are no more wires above the ones I tapped into.
