So on this flip key, there are no buttons at all? If you have this, it should have a lock, unlock, trunk, and a red panic button. Do you have any of those?
Also..................what is you vehicle model? I see your sig say a touring, but are you sure?

Does anyone have the proper Shock sensor instruction sheet for a 2006 GT with the Advanced Keyless system ? The Instructions that came with my Shock sensor, are incorrect and reference connectors that are not present in my car. The Brown wire that I'm supposed to hook up the diode to I cannot find, I've found 2 brown wires, One BRN/RED and one BRN/BLK......Which one.
Its frustrating that the dealer sells and option for the car and doesnt; have specific instructions for that yr and model. PLEASE HELP!!!
If so , please e-mail it to me as pdf file or jpg as private msg attachment.
Thanks,
Stef.

Neither wire.....don't cut either one! Or you will be sorry.

Give me a second, as I wanna ask you a question and it may lead to help you and White311.

Okay................I don't think either of you guys are looking up high enough!
If you see that connector that is in plain sight, the one with the gray handle that you would pull down to release, then I want you to look above that! There you should see another white connector, it's up there a ways. If both of you can wait till tomorrow night, I will take some really good pictures that show where you should tap into with arrows and everything. Do me a favor and look at the picture below, and what I want you to do is just see if you can find the following:

Looking at the white connector in this photo, you will see it has a gray handle at the top. This is NOT the harness you want!
All I want you to do is look above that harness in the picture to where you see the screw at the top of the picture(a little to the right of center). Moving left from that screw, you should will see some wires bundled with electrical tape......do you see that?
Okay, all I wanna know is to the left of that bundle(and maybe a little highter) you should see at least one white connector.
All I wanna know is if you have a connector in that position?
In this picture it's almost dead nuts in the center of the photo at the very top and above the tie wrap. I'm not saying this is the one you are after yet, but I wanna know if you have that?
Also....do you have the black box with the connectors on it that is shown on the lefthand side in this photo? This is to the left of that red wire tap that can be seen in this photo. Is it there?

I also have the wiring diagrams showing where all the connectors are, so if you can give me until tomorrow, we can most likely get you both squared away. I was at work today for 12 hours and I'm just beat tonight.

Sorry....he copied it in first, I just used it as reference!
I think they also have the wrong brown wire. When I get home tomorrow, I'll take some pics and try to get it cleared up from them. I just looked at the wiring diagrams to make sure I had it in case I have to E-mail them to them. At least it shows exactly where the connectors are and what wire colors are where in the connectors, so that will make it easier on us all. I hope!
Think the key is they need to find the brown wire in the middle connector off of the keyless entry box...........that's the box you spoke of. I know there are three connectors on that box and the brown wire is in the middle connector. But..........................they need to make sure they have the box and that it has three connectors on it first!

Okay............sorry, but I had to ask.
I know it's an 06, but you gotta have a black box somewhere in that general location with at least two white connectors on it and probably three!
You need to go find that and even though I wrote below where the brown wire is that you're after...don't do it until tomorrow, when you either see detailed pics from myself or nycgps.
It's a bitch to get in there and look I know, and you'll have to be kinda upside down, but find it.

Oh yeah......and when we get that far, you know you gotta have the hood and trunk closed!

OK......I went and checked for the remote key box again.........I know where I am looking and it isnt there.

What does this mean? How can I get one installed?

Most of all why does my car not have one?

I'm really not sure!
I tried to get some shots the other night and having a one car garage, I just couldn't get in there and get the right angle, plus it was too dark.
I'm at home today(sick) so hopefully if the friggin rain quits, I can get in there and take some pics for you guys/gals.
Anyway..........I saw your pics of the bracket where we believe the keyless entry box should be..............remember it could be somewhere else.....but the other person with an 06 had it there and saw it, so I guess my question to you would be..............In that area, do you see three small white connectors that are not connected anywhere and are just hanging or all wrapped together but not connected anywhere? Also..........I'm not trying to make you sound like an idiot and I'm not even sure if these all apply to the keyless entry, but..........
You can lock and unlock your doors with the key fob right?
You can set the alram with the key fob? First time press lock, the turn signal lights flash and doors lock, push it again and horn goes "Beep" one time?
What happens if you hit the "panic" button?
I can't imagine you don't have it, but I guess it's possible.....are you the first owner?

Well...........attached are my meager attempt at helping.
There are two shots.
1.) For orientation, but does have some text on it.
2.) Closer up with more detail

White311.........you don't see those connectors or box huh? You got screwed then...unless it's somewhere else, but you not being able to set it off with the panic after it's armed..it's not looking good!

nycgps........if you get a chance, please review my two photos and text and see if you agree please?

BTW........don't be fooled by the area just to the left of the 14 pin connector in photo two, there are two connector there that are very, very close, and it kinda looks like it might be mis-wired, but it's not. The simple fact of the matter is that the SOLID brown wire to be cut comes off the center connector of the keyless entry module and runs down and joins other wires into the large bundle that ends up running along the firewall. Once you find that CORRECT solid brown wire, cut it and attach the diode assembly with label side going to the keyless module side and the non-label side of the diode assembly goes to leading into the bundle.

Not sure.....I check around and let you know.
Kinda strange because I thought all GT's would have it?
I'll poke around on www.rosenthalmazda.com and www.trussvillemazda.com
and see. I suggest you do the same. So you looked at the pics? Doesn't look anything like that huh?

Hi there,

The Red/Blue Wire and Black /Yellow wire, is that connector the lower most connector from the keyless box ?
Does your car have the Advanced SMART key system ? I'm wondering if the connectors and wiring colours are different for the different keyless systems.

I've had all three connectors disconnected and could not find any solid BROWN wire. There were 2 BROWN wires, one with a red stripe and the other with a Black stripe ...?????

No, the Red/Blue and the Black/Yellow do not come from the keyless unit. Look at my first pic a couple of post ago and see where that big @*** connector is, then click on the second pic and just a little corner of the big connector is visible on the righthand side of the photo. These two wires actually come out of the 14 pin connector that is located above and to the left of that big @ss connector with the gray handle on it. This should put that 14 pin connector to the right of the three connectors on the keyless entry box. Do you see where I'm talking about now? You'll have to click on the picture to enlarge it.

Let me know and when we get those straight then we'll tackle the brown wire.

Oh.......and define "Advanced SMART key system" for me. Because maybe there is a difference? I have the key fob with the 4 buttons on it with the switchblade key(if you will).

Now the brown wire mystery ?

The dreaded brown wire:

Okay, the best way to really find it....assuming our cars are the same.......is that there is a large bundle of wire that run along the firewall above but in front of your feet(if you were sitting there). It should be the lowest big bundle and all taped up. This big bundle then comes around the corner from the firewall and starts heading towards that big @ss connector. Before it get's there it kind of does a "Y" and one bunch of wires heads off toward the big @ss connector while a small group(maybe 8-10) wires makes a turn and goes straight up towards the three white connectors on the keyless unit. In that bundle of 8-10 wires(or so) there should be a solid brown wire and if you can get it to where you can see it, it should lead into the middle connector of the three that are on the keyless entry box. It takes a while to find, and I know it's not easy and very frustrating, but don't cut ANY wires until you've located it. Don't cut any wire that's not a solid brown. So again........it goes from the center connector of the three on the keyless entry and then straight down where it then goes into that big bundle with probably 50-60 wires in it. You want to find it before it goes into that big bundle. Give a really hard look and let me know.....but don't cut it yet!
Sorry for the typing, but I'm sick as a dog today! Argh!
