hey guys my gps keeps acting up

hey guys my gps keeps acting up

i start driving on a highway or a city street and it keeps going off course. And lately the gps icon has been off. i took it to the dealer and they dont know whats wrong. u guys have any ideas what to do

something has to be wrong...even without a GPS signal, dead reckonning should still be pretty accurate until you do get your signal back...maybe your GPS antenna shifted or your DVD-Rom drive is defective and not placing you accurately on the maps on the DVD...

when mine goes off, it usually only goes off for a few seconds if even...

BTW, i can which threads you create because they all start with "hey guys" :p

If you hit the "Position" button, it will recalibrate and show your correct position.

possibly the map is oudated in your area, rather not updated enough? but IThink you said it started going off position, so I assume its not that map. i noticed when I drove to indianapolis that the map didnt follow my position on the highway (showed that I was off the road) so I assume some newer areas may not be up to date.

I havent had any problems out of mine, but sometimes it does show me driving next to the interstate vice on the interstate. but thats normally when im in the far right lane on a 6 lane interstate. But it still tells me the correct off ramps and everything.
