Homelink question

I did a search, and didn't find an answer, so here goes.

In programming the Himelink, I need to go to step 6, which involves a "train" button on the motor/receiver for the garage door opener. Our garage door openers don't have such a thing, so it seems that we cannot use homelink. Is that a correct conclusion?

I donno how old ur openers are but maby the technology is not conpatible. that is the problem with one of my two doors. one of them is old and can not be programmed to my car, my dad's car or even my mom's car. but the newer one works like a charm. Food for thought. Or I could be completely wrong! lol Good Luck

Did you take the cover off and there's no little black button on it? Are you sure your opener was Homelink compatible?

It took me a little while to make sure I was doing it right, but once I got mine working it is really nice. The range on it is better than my regular remotes...

I have no idea how to tell. I was just trying to follow the directions.

I'm sure I would enjoy it, but I don't think I want to buy a new garage door opener just for this....

Check the frequency of the device’s hand-held transmitter (usually found on the back). HomeLink is compatible with RF devices operating between 288-399MHz. Dont know if this will help you at at all but its just some info i found.
