homelink rear view mirror not dimming
so I don't know if anyone else has had this issue but alot of times while driving at night my mirror wouldn't dim so I decided to "fix" it by installing a switch so that if I run into the problem then I can force the mirror to dim.
I wrote a how to... and it can be found here

Not a bad idea, but I think I'd rather have a more flush fitting switch.
Some people put a small strip of electrical tape over the opening for the photocell. Honestly I see little difference in mine either way, but having the stock spoiler blocks the rear facing photocell and causes the non-dimming issue for some.

the reason I used a switch instead of just putting a piece of electrical tape is because I wanted to be able to control it dimming and not have it dim during the day
and as for the switch I used, it was the only one I could find nearby in a very short amount of time because my mirror was rattling and I was finally fed up with it so I decided to jump into this little side project I had been planning on doing
