How to add Gain control for sub amp???
I know i can add a gain control **** if i was using a line output converter... but can i hook one up using speaker level inputs? I sometimes i like a ton of bass, other times i want none, and the Bass control on the HU doesnt affect it too much.
I have my jbl 600.1 tapped into the rear speaker wires usign the high level inputs... and was wondering if i could instead:
HU-->bose amp-->tap speaker wire into rear leads (NO L.O.C.)-->gain control ****-->speaker wire to jbl amp via high level inputs.
would this let me control the gain? or do those gain control ***** only work with low voltage RCA? would it be able to trim the amount of watts going to the amp, which should lower/raise the level?
If no, then i'll add a LOC and go from there but i like using the speaker level inputs since i dont need a turn on lead and it keeps one more thing out of the system.
any recommendations on a control ****?

find out if there is a bass control **** for your amp. many sub amps either come with or have available a control **** that you can run up front so you can control how much bass you want. other choice is using a LOC with a control **** on it.

there is no **** or remote **** lead from the amp. jsut the level/x-over/abssboost that has to be controled onthe amp. the amp is in the trunk and i want to control it from the drivers seat.
i jsut talked to friend thats an computer/electrical engineer.. said bose amp would probably fry if i tried gain controlling w.o LOC. off to circuit city i go.

Go out and purchase the Audio Control LC6 if it is a Bose based system or the LC6 + bass remote if it is non-bose. It will give the system a whole pile cleaner signal than the basic built in loc that your amp has as well.
