this was my first time wrapping anything in vinyl. was pretty time consuming. i'd still like to redo this so that i can get the edges folded under for a much cleaner look.

someone please tell me how to take this shift **** apart. im sure someone has already tried this.

I tried taking mine apart as well my friend. I want to take it apart and reupholster it, and also introduce red lighting into it. But I couldn't get it apart. I got my rotary symbol loose on top but can't get anything else to budge. Hope you can find something. My leather is wore through on the **** and maybe one day I will just rip it apart to figure it out.

did you try popping out the circle part first? the triangle rotor part will slightly rotate on mine. which is leading me to believe its held on with a screw or something under the circle button.

they had to get that rotor accent on the **** somehow. there is def a way to get it off.

hope someone who has really done or tried can put more helpful input to this thread.

if i can figure the right way to take it apart and put it back together without damage or harm. i'd rather just paint or cover it in vinyl.

i paid $2 shipped to my door for that carbon vinyl sheet.

i pulled the vinyl off already. if the vinyl is not wrapped and tucked under it will just become wavy along the cut edge.

need help guys.

I wonder about this as well.

If my spare shift **** wouldn't be in a like-new condition, I'd try to take it apart. I was looking for a beat-up **** for a while to attempt this, but couldn't get one and I'm not about to mess up my perfect spare.
I'd probably try to pry out the round lens on the top somehow, like with a utility knife or something like that. Unfortunately this will result in a visible damage though.
I remember reading about someone trying to do this and failing, so apparently this is not a simple thing to do.

yes
just done it - my **** started rattling
doublesided tape on sequence button - if the rotary accent is loose its easier to remove coz u can push it agains the screw
