HU turns off and then on after few seconds
I've been having a strange problem with my 04 RX-8.
I recently took it to the dealer because the TPMS monitor kept turning on but the tire pressure was fine. Turn out it was a loose TPMS monitor and the dealer fixed that and now I no longer have that issue, but another one has now cropped up.
While driving the car, the entire Head Unit (HU) turns off for a couple of seconds and then turns back on automatically. This is while the car is in motion and hasn't been turned off. Weird I know. The stereo cuts out, the LED display bank turns off and even the NAV unit turns off just for a couple of seconds and then they all turn back on on their own.
I reset the DSC just now, but I don't think that will fix this issue. Does anyone else have any suggestions (bad fuse, loose wire) or clues as to why this is happening?

I know this post is 2 years old, but this just happened to me yesterday in my '05. While driving & listening to a cd, the stereo shut off completely, then came back on about 5 seconds later with all the audio controls reset to zero ( bass, mid, treble, etc ). Any ideas?
