I have built a HUD unit for my beloved RX, but have yet to work out how to connect the tacho to the car, seeing as we don't have a standard ignition tacho source.

Any ideas where I can grab a signal to run my tacho? I can easily calibrate my digital tacho circuit to cope with odd outputs.

Cable colours would be helpful!

The HUD comprises of a digital led tacho, and a current gear indicator that flashes at the beep.

I did think of adding a second digital speedo to the HUD.
Any ideas where the sat/nav pulse output cable connection is? That could run a speedo display.

I was thinking of this just the other day. I used to have a Ponitac Bonneville and having the HUD was the bomb.

I wish I could help, but I am not that techie...
