I got a Q-Logic Box that fits like a glove!
Well I told you guys a long time ago that I burned up my Type X 12 - and i had to go back to using an old Type R 10 for temp.. well i decided i'd stick with the 10"s and got 2 new type R 10"s - one was messed up and is being replaced at the moment but i have one new one and one old one in a dual 10 Q-logic box that fits like it was designed for my car!
I would have done the ZENclosures box but i liked my amps where they were too much so i went with the qlogic box
Here is a link on crutchfield Qlogic .6510DS
I was looking at the specs and it looked too tall.. but i figured out i could turn it on its back and it would be perfect.
it is quite snug between the bottom and the structure bar going across the top and leaves about 2 inches between it and both of my amps (which for the PDX line is more than enough)
the top isn't that grey color its actually like a fo-leather material
and the speaker connectors are on the back, not the side.
if you push it all the way back against the seats it lines up perfect with the trunk well
and the carpet is even a perfect match!
but I think it's awesome.. more than perfect for my needs

I am thinking about adding a few subs in my 8. I like what you have done. I have one question though. Did you just splice into the L R going into the bose amp to get your inputs on your amp?

Yeah that was the box I was using for my single too.. it was a REALLY good box.. i was particularly fond of the rubber ring gasket thing, this one doesn't have that, or the grill and it has those plastic things on the sides which almost make it too big but it makes it really snug so i don't need to screw it down or anything..

You used the rubber gasket? I tried and it was letting air out through the sides. I find my JL 10W1 to be almost too narrow in diameter to mount in the box. Some screws will go in snug and others will be too close to the edge and want to keep spinnning allowing air to come out and cause a vibrating sound.
Since you were running a single Type R, how much of a difference would you say adding another made?

I would say the second type R made a pretty significant difference over just the one.
although, keep in mind we are talking 500 watts RMS each, compared to the 125 of the 10W1
The single was pretty nice, would have been plenty for anyone who wanted just some decent bass to go with the music, and it could be enough to impress when maxed out (especially when someone asks what you have and you tell them just 1 10) but the 2 lets me listen to my music with alot of bass like it like it without taxing the sub as much because they can share the load. and when you turn it up it can REALLY impress.
I can't quite hit the really lows like i would like, but it is a small sealed box. it if were larger, ported, or 12s i bet it would hit them like crazy
but it does the higher bass notes really good, my favorite is prodigy - smack my bitch up.. whatever freq that is hits PERFECT and makes your chest go numb after about half the song..
Since i already had a 1000 watt RMS amp and only had to pay for the second sub and box the upgrade was defiantly worth it, but i like alot of bass and it might not be as important to some one else...
