I need some help with a MP3 player adapter
I have an "06 with the Bose system. No nav. No multi. I don't want to upgrade the head unit, just want to be able to play music from my phone (EVO). I've seen a lot of IPOD stuff. Is there anything out there I can install besides the cheap FM adapter? I've read all the posts and have followed the links, but nothing. Someone please help. Thanks!

I use this:
https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/your-ipod-mp3-player-integration-solution-here-77790/
There is a full functional iPod version, but there is also a non-iPod version with AUX or USB input, and you can add Bluetooth as well.
The direct product link since the thread link just goes to the company home page and you have to dig for it: http://www.therpmstore.com/store/p/1...for-Mazda.html

NOTE: The factory headunit's firmware revision must be 9.55 or greater. The unit will not work on earlier firmware revisions or with 9.81 or 10.01. To find out which revision your Mazda RX-8 has, make sure the radio (FM) is turned on, then press and hold "TEXT." Then, also press and hold "1" at the same time for a few more seconds. The LCD should then report your firmware version.
NOTE: The AudioLink unit is not compatible with the integrated Sirius satellite radio module. Both this unit and the factory satellite radio module connect to the headunit using the same port, so only one or the other may be used at any given time. If you have the satellite radio, but do not use it, you are able to switch to the AudioLink with no problems.

I have this and didn't even know it:
Audiovox FM100A Modulator
It actually fits nicely under the stock stereo. The previous owner got it installed and I just found it 2 weeks ago while removing my shift boot and getting curious.
