Illuminated gear **** - broken

Seems there is a common problem with the wires on these.
They break easy...
I have acquired one of the broken ones...
Anyone any experience getting one of these open for repair or am i the first?

Maybe i should have been a little more precise..
My (yet to be delivered) HP is fine.
The faulty **** was a freebie from the dealer (not a lot they could do with it).

Anyhow:
Done
Fixed

I now know its probably not necessary to remove the leather.....
(but wont take long to re-stitch when i get some thread)
Removed the snapped cable and replaced
removed the red led rig and replaced with a tricolour cyclic led.

need to decide whether to just stitch back up or get redone in blue like the rest of the interior.

Suppose that depends on whether im keeping it.

Anyone had an illuminated **** fitted and still got the original?
I'll be interested to take them off your hands....
