Im VERY new to cars and...

Well, im getting an RX8 in july, and im trying to research as MUCH as i can about it.
but now im looking at mod stuff(i know im moving fast and i dont even have the car yet!)
but i was wondering, how the heck do you install LED footlights? because i KNOW when i get my rx-8 (either black or blue ) i want to install blue LED foot lights, AND change the interior lights to blue as well.

my only problem is when i looked up LED car footlights, NOTHING shows up, am i using an incorrect term?

please help!

im a soon to be RX8 FANATIC!

The best advice I can give you is take your time, research your mods and don't buy stuff on impulse. You'll save a lot of money and headaches that way.

to install your footwell lights, just wire them to the ignition, so when ever the car starts, its automatically on [but i have a switch for mine just in case]
or you can wire them to your courtesy lights, but they will only be on when your doors are open. you can, however wire them through your front cig lighter.
i got my interior LED set from RotaryFX.com
and i got my four LED strips from LEDglow.com [one under each seat]

all blue!

just do not get your EXTERIOR LEDs from RotaryFX, they are crap!
get your exterior LEDs from ijdmtoy.com or vleds.com [but lately, vleds has been sold out on most rx8 comatible bulbs]

Hahaha, when i say im new to cars, i mean that quite literally, i dont know a LOT about cars. im the type of guy who is just now TRYING to get into cars and learn how to do stuff to them.
so now that i know the correct term.
how is it you go about installing the footwell lights?
how do i go about connecting them to the car?
im also wanting to change the interior lights from the top of the car im guessing they are the dome lights... aha i think all you have to do with those is just change the "light bulb" to a led one correct?
all i know is im getting a brilliant black rx8
and wanting to put purple lights on the inside or something of that magnitude!
all your help is greatly appriciated!

Before you buy anything, look to see the quality of it and that you'll be able to live with the associated headaches the mod comes with(this goes for any mod big or small). A lot of times something might be cheaper by a bit but can be a worlds headache away only if you spent a little more. Concerning your LED's, check to see what brand, size, etc... goes into your car. Better yet, go to a meet and you just might get hooked up that knows where to get the bulbs and probably install them. GL.

Goodluck

My advice on the intake is dont change it out. Its already a great intake. Now if your looking for a deeper tone or looks...go for it do what you'd like.

I'm all about function over form

Enjoy the car as it is first. Tinker with it later after having had a chance to actually see how it all works.

You can always go online and do a search on LED's, buy them online or local radio shack or frys, use a few resistors(per your application again use the internet to find the correct ones) and solder the wires together, and mount them. Should be a lot cheaper that buying strips, plus you can mix and match how you like to get a bluish white or whatever color you want. Just food for thought.

I am surprised no one flamed this guy for asking such an open ended question.

But Vinnyy whatever you decide take you time buy quality stuff and as far as installing anything of any kind of electronics (lights, stereo and such) make sure it is fused somewhere along the line to where you are connecting it (fuse box, radio power or cig light).
