PA Infomation panel question

i've searched and didn't find what im looking for for info or ideas.

Long story, short version.. I'm color blind, (some shades of red's, oranges, browns and some purple/pink combos) and the display panel during the day is very hard to see, others can see it but i cant because of the red. At night not a problem.

is there anyway to change the color? or am i barking up the wrong tree?

Sorry man. But it's not like you can just replace some bulbs or leds with a different color here.

You can typically replace the 8-segment LED display with another color with no problems as long as you match the specs (not just dimension, but max voltage/current).
If I had a panel lying around I would take it apart and figure out what you needed, but that is one spare I don't believe I have.

thanks, i'll hunt one down if i can, its not "top" priority but something that im looking into. As i said i cant see it during the day, dont know if its just the tint or what ever that blends the colors together that i cant see it. Sucks but nothing at this time i can do about it, hince the question to ask.

thanks again.

No problem.
You living in central PA may not be too bad of a drive to meet-up.
If they are individual segments that can be un-soldered, I can get a variety of colors and install them all on the panel.
Then you can judge which one looks better and go from there.
And the segments are usually cheap... under $0.50/each depending on where you shop.

Good luck guys. Me thinks you'll need it. Would be something to brag about if you pull it off. Make sure to post up your findings for others to benefit from.

The information display is not a seven segment display FYI, it is actually a dot matrix display with seven segment components at the far left and far right for the temperature numbers. That being said, the backlighting LED can be replaced somewhat easily, but there isn't going to be a simple way to change the color of each "dot".
