it all depends on the job and the shop. most shops, like mine, will charge flat rates for most common tasks in most vehicles. amp to box, 55, 4 channel amp, 80, remote start 100, remote start with keyless entry, 130, etc. these prices do not include parts and materials, like power wire, fuses, signal cables, etc.

for custom work, we charge 60 per hour, with a minimum of 30.

it really depends on the market, how professional the shop is, and their reputation. the better the shop and their reputation, the more they can charge for labor.

well, from what i can understand from your other thread, you are trying to install 2 13w7's in your 8. if we were to look at the job, we would probably try to explain to you that even though you can do anything with enough money, that is really stretching the limits of car audio. as was explained in your other thread, the volume of the boxes would take up almost all of your trunk space (assuming that the box was fiberglass and molded to fit the trunk.)

more realisticaly, you could probably have 2 10w7's, in a custom mdf box, installed in about 1 day.

that would be builing the box, carpeting it, running all the wires for the amp, and hooking everything up.

if you are still intent on doing the 2 13's, please stop by a shop local to your area, and explain to them what you want to do. they will be able to help you plan out your system, and set realistic goals.

Yes prices do vary our shop tends to be a little more than bestbuy or even any of the surrounding shops in San Antonio. But our work is warrentied and we work off quality. Prices for us go as follows pretty much 40$ an hr and 300$ a day. Thats a standard price quote if your tryin to get custom work done prepare to get your wallet ready.
