according to your thread you grounded the psu to the battery.... don't do that..

instead ground it to the strut tower in the trunk...

the noise is a consequence of this.. especially if like you said it's tied to engine rpm.. if grounding it to the chassis doesn't get rid of it you will need a ground loop isolator.

I grounded to the frame in the trunk and had a bit of noise. I ended up going with a big ol' noise filter and it got really quiet. I did the in-line audio choke and haven't had any issues since.

I also bought a 10A ground loop filter that is supposed to be ran between your PSU and your PC but because of the success I had with the inline audio filter I never installed it.

I'll see about tracking down a link for the filter I went with. I found it by searching mp3car.com some time back.

Correction - I installed the ground loop isolator, this one here specifically:
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...TOKEN=25264524

In doing so I didn't bother with the 10A filter, shown here:
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...TOKEN=25264524

I did notice a change in the overall harmonics with the ground loop isolater, but it is 1000 times better than without it. One day I'll try removing it and going with the power based one, but I'm in no hurry.

To clarify where I grounded, it was up by the bose amp. I'd need to take a look for certain but it may have even been the same place that the bose amp negative wire goes.

All other issues resolved. Just cannot get rid of the noise. It is killing me. I installed metal plates underneath my mobo and cpu and grounded the metal plates. Took me five hours to do the thing and still the noise persists.

Somebody help me or someone around me is going to get seriously hurt...arrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Where i live ground loop isolators are not available. so what are my options. Would a usb soundcard do the trick???

Partsexpress.com has an online shopping cart and checkout system. The ground loop isolator will remove ALL noise from your system as it made mine crystal clear.

A USB soundcard sounds like a workaround/hack moreso than anything else and unless it has power filter of its own you're simply going to add to the complexity of your setup.

do you have your power wires close to your audio wires or other signal wires?

I got a second hand ground loop isolator. Although it removed all the noise from my system but it also removed most of the "Volume".

At full volume what i hear from my pc is about equivalent to 40% of my cd player volume. Is this normal or do i have a defected ground loop isolator.

not normal.

did you try grounding it to the strut tower in the trunk? or anywhere on the chassis...?

UPDATE:

1. I tried grounding mobo and psu at different places on my chasis but nothing helped. The strange thing is that in the process i accidentally ran my computer without a wire attached to m2-atx psu and the computer was working okay? How can psu run without grounding this is really strange for me.

2. I connected my speakers with my ipod and there was no distortion.

3. I connected my mobo with a headphones and again there was no distortion.

I will try to find a good ground loop isolator here and see where things go from there.

This would leave your audio out (from your computer to your stereo) line as the culprit. Make sure it is not running next to any power wires. In your center console you want power on one side and audio on the other.

FWIW, I made every effort to keep the two separated and still got engine noise. You might also want to try a torroid ring between the PC and stereo too.
