Hey guys, long time browser, first time poster. Got a used 2004 RX-8 a few weeks ago, velocity red, GT model, reallly love the car. Wanted one when I first got a newer car but didn't know how to drive stick until i snagged a $1500 1990 miata few months later i have my favorite car of all time! (have had a love affair with this car long as i can remember)

Anyways, I got some LED's for the interior and everything went smoothly except the weird bulb thing in the dome light. I got the same kind from v-leds and put it in but it won't light up now. I tried putting the old one in and still won't light anymore. Checked some fuses to no avail, as well. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? The new lights look fantastic but I'd like the back to be lit too!

 

Nevermind, for anyone else who happens to have this problem, make sure the screws are in really tight that go around the bulb, they complete the circuit and must be screwed in the entire way for it to light correctly.

i never had to unscrew anything for the dome light.

 

the dome light in the back has 4 screws in it once you pop it out of the ceiling (assuming you don't just pry off the plastic front). 2 that go into the metal stuff around the bulb and 2 that go near the connector for the switch and hold the entire thing together. you only really need to remove the latter.

 

Does anyone know if the 9LED bulb from vled will fit in the dome light cover?

Not sure..............I'm using one of V-LEDs 9 SMT's back there.

But.....I don't think they have the one I'm using in stock anymore.
