The ones they are selling now, are newer then the ones I bought... Frankly, you can't go wrong with anything that had more than 5-6 LEDs. For the map lights I used directional bulbs, and 360 degree ones for the doors.

plug and play, and it was relatively easy though the map lights are a little tricky.

Just a note for anyone interested in using LEDs for the interior lights: Just like the regular incandescent bulbs, the LEDs will dim slightly when you shut the door, and then fade out. Unlike the incandescent bulbs however, this causes a flicker similar to having your monitor refresh rate set too low. This may not bother some, but it gave me an instant headache so I went back to incandescents. I suggest testing them out in the door courtesy lights first since those are super easy to get too.

I've done a blue overhead light that shines down on the center console. There's a DIY somewhere I think.

I stuffed 4 blue LED's in the sunroof switches so the light comes through the stock gap in the switches. It works out perfect since the light only hits the center console, and doesn't make it to the seats or the radio console at all.

I'd take a picture, but it's the way real ambient lighting should be- you never really notice it is there because it's so soft, but sometimes you kind of notice that you can see your hand on the shifter even though it's really dark out.

the 360 degree ones you mention, are these the 5-LED wide angle ones? i thought thatd be a good idea for the doors but wasnt sure. if these are what you used, then ill do it!

which did you use for the dome light? 2, 4. or 9 LED?

so i got in my LEDs and i love em! from superbrightleds.com

door/courtesy lights - WLED 5-LED Wide Angle LED bulb
map lights - T13 Wedge Base LED bulb
dome light - 3022-x4 LED Festoon bulb

however, i forgot about my trunk light i tried out the 5LED wide angle in the trunk cuz its the easiest to uninstall (from the courtesy light) and it wasnt good enough...anyone have suggestions?

i would guess a matrix led would work best for all the area that needs to be illuminated in there. the problem is also that the plastic bulb cover dims the led output by a lot...

I installed my Map light with Red Leds and the Dome light with Led. The only thing left is my door lights. I love em!

I used the same bulbs as scsi except I got mine from autolumination.com

Hey Does anyone know How to get the bulbs out of the door panels (the ones the light up the window/lock switches)? As well as what type of bulb would replace those? I want to put blue in there.

^^^ I ordered the same lights.. they look way blue on my car!!!

To get the lights that glow over the window switches you need to remove the door panel. there is a small bulb off a wire , very easy to see.

heres the problem.. the bulb isnt colored.. there is a red filter in the door that makes it red colored (if i recall correctly)

do they make white incadescent bulbs? i knwo they would probably have to coat the bulb but there has to be something a little whiter than the standard yellow

I've got a 2004, the bulbs the shine down on the window switches in mine are colored, I can get to them without taking the door panel off I just can't get them out. The on in the Ashtray is white with an amber filter, that one I'll just be changing the filter to blue.

LED lights

I can show you how to do it one weekend or at the next meet. It's pretty easy, but I don't have the time to do a DIY.

Does anyone know where I can get replacement clear covers for the map lights? I scratched one of them trying to take it off.

I installed some blue LEDs in the dome, the doors, under the dash on the driver's and passenger's sides and under the seats this past weekend. I was looking for some accent lighting without it being too rice, so my install has some nice ambiance but isn't too bright; more like mood lighting than "HEY, LOOK AT ME!" lighting.

I was planning on cannabailizing the ashtray light (which switches with the parking lights) but found another set of wires back there that weren't being used for anything and used that instead. I wired a switch into the ashtray that lets me shut the lights off if I need to. All in all it was a very simple install. This was the first electrical mod I've ever done to a car and it was really easy.

I'll post a DIY tonight after I get some pics. Pics have to be taken at night since the LEDs aren't noticable during the day.
