iPhone w/ stock ipod adapter

Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum, please don't hurt me. yes i'm a noob. I know. I have a question that maybe some of you might be able to answer. I have the stock ipod adapter. And when i plugged my iphone into it there was so much static. Not like radio static, but more like a whiny kinda static. Have anyone come across this problem?

It's not compatible with the iPhone? Just use the regular iPod. That is my best guess.

Not sure on the 8's, but most direct Ipod adapters I have installed are not compatible with the iPhone.

The noise is from the phone receiving signal. Have you ever a your phone next to some speakers and then when it rings a whiny tic noise comes out?...same thing. You need a ground loop isolator.

Does the phone ask you to go in "airplane mode" when you plug it in? If not, set it to that manually and see if that fixes it. That disables the phone portion, though.
