iPod Adapter Choice... Which is better?
I have had a hard-wired FM input in to my HU for some time, but it still doesn't sound much better than the wireless FM inputs. Anyways after getting fed up with the crappy quality, I've decided its time to spend the money and get the full use out of my iPod. I'm planning to buy an iPod adapter for my car... after searching around on the net (and forums) I want to know which of these following adapters is best for use with my RX-8...
1. Neo iOn SP (10052)
or
2. ice > Link v1.1 for iPod
Price wise, they are about the same (possibly $10-$20 difference at the most)... so price is not really my concern. Are there any other options I could go with that allow me to use my steering wheel controls and have high-quality input like these adapters?
Also... does anyone know which firmware I must have to be able to use these adapters? And if so, how do I go about finiding which firmware my 8 currently has? I am not sure if firmware should be an issue, but just to let you know, I do not have a nav, so don't know if it matters.
Any input is appreciated :D
Thanks

You need HU firmware 9.55 or above. Hold down the text ****, and press the Preset 1 button for a few seconds. The firmware version should appear.

I have the neo ion and I am very happy with it. After researching and talking to a installer who has worked with both products, we figured that they are basically very much alike. Actually all the adapters that connect to the cd changer port are. The neo ion is cheaper and from what I have seen they have an excellent reputation. I called up placed my order and I had a shipping confirmation that afternoon. I saw this write up while I was browsing an S2000 forum. It seems to have some good info & opinions in it as well. http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php...253103&hl=ipod
