iPod FM Transmitter Interference

iPod FM Transmitter Interference
Ok, I searched first, but all I really found were opinions on FM Transmitters.
I picked up this:

For my 32gb Ipod Touch last week because I loved the one I got for out Altima so much, but it didn't work worth a damn in my car. I got tons of static, it phased in and out, and when I did get it to transmit, there was a high-pitched buzzing noise. I ALMOST sent it back...
This morning, I decided to geve it one last try on my way to drop off my kids at school. When I parked to drop off my son, I noticed that the transmitter played CRYSTAL CLEAR (near CD Quality, and I'm REALLY picky) while I was in the parking lot. I figured it was just because I was sitting still, but when I went to leave for work, I noticed that as soon as I dropped the e-brake, all hell broke loose. I pulled the brake a few more times, and each time, it went right back to crystal clear again.
Does anybody have any idea why this is happening and if I can get into the center console and maybe fix it?
Also, do you guys think, in general, if i unplugged the antenna from the back of the stock stereo it would make a transmitter work better? I NEVER listen to the radio, so I don't need it.

Yeah, I'm really trying to avoid pulling out the radio because of the HVAC nightmare. I have a pioneer touchscreen DVD player and iPod interface that's going in, but I wanted to use the FM transmitter until I get the $250-450 for the dash kit so I only have to mess with it once. One shot, one kill.

It's easy!

With the advent of HD radio in my already RF spectrum-saturated area my iPod FM transmitter has gone into the junk drawer.
Aux connector is of course best, but a cassette tape interface is pretty good.
