Ipod Holders?

Ipod Holders?
Anyone know of any good Ipod holders for the 8? I think I'm going to go the the Neo for my Ipod to car integration, but now I need to find a good holder that will give me easy access to the controls of the Ipod.
Any suggestions?

this is what i use for my iPod in my cars, along with my Sony cassette car iPod adapter: http://www.theistore.com/ventmount.html
it's completely removable (clean) and won't scratch or break your A/C vents as long as you (1) install & remove the two grip clips gently and (2) put the clips on upside down from the way the instructions say to... (i noticed that if u install the grip clips upside down it's much safer & easier to remove, because all u need to do is gently press down and they slide right off. and, when they're on, they still grip firmly.)
i bought one for for my 8 & one for my beamer as well. and, personally, i think it works great. it puts the iPod at just the right eye level for you to navigate- ie not to low, not too high. another nice thing is it also rotates 180º. so, it will work with widescreen devices as well, like the Apple iPhone/ iPod, Zune etc. (i don't have a PSP, but it might fit that as well.)
the only con is that it does block the vent u mount it in front of- which is really only a problem if u have the heater on, since u don't want hot air blowing on your iPod. on my beamer it's not an issue, because if i have individual vent on/off dials for each vent. so, when the heat is on, i just turn off that particular vent using the turning dial.
it's not a perfect solution, but it does work well & safely. it's completely removable and grips well. or, if u choose to just leave it mounted, it stays put nicely. and, it doesn't eat up a cupholder or require any permanent glue or sticky mount mechanism.

this is the one I use....I have it plugged into my cig lighter so this allows me to keep the ipod charging. This adaptor has an FM transmittor that works fairly well...but I do have my ipod hardwired with the PIE adaptor as well.

1. The cold and heat may be bad for the Ipod and
2. It would limit the ammount of air coming out of the vent.
Does it have any effect? Thanks

The positioning of the Ipod would work, but with the Neo charging it already, I wonder if that would create problems(extra stress on battery etc.)

How hard is it to reach and use the controls on that one?

cold air is good for electronic devices- esp hard drives, like the iPod. so, u have nothing to worry about if u have the AC on. hot air, however, is not so good. if u use the heater at high temps a lot, u may want to to look at the mount that kwescott mentioned instead. personally, i run the heater at low temps in the winter and use my heated seat. my ipod has been fine.
i found a link to a cheaper version of kwescott's recommended dock:
http://www.handhelditems.com/ipod-tr...er-p-4950.html
as far as the amount of air, it only covers part of the vent. so, air flow is ok.

I had a Belkin holder that fit into the drink holder initially, but it didn't provide a power source and my Ipod always seemed to run out of juice....and it wasn't convenient for me to look down at.
The positioning with this, would be similar to the Kuda holder, you may want to check into that since you don't really need the power or FM transmittor function of the holder I use.

Got mine in a polycarbonate case. Indestructible. Just keep it in the center console. That way I don't have to worry about prying eyes while my car is parked.... nor do I have to disconnect/move it every time I get in or out of the car.

One thing to keep in mind with this particular mount, it is NOT compatible with '09s. I ordered this one because the site says it fits, but it's not even close. The area around the A/C controls is recessed as opposed to flush.
Thanks again for all your help guys.
