Since it hasnt been confirmed id guess "no" on the non-ipod text capabilities. Additionally... the minidisc player outputs text correct? so does that mean this will NOT require a HU upgrade since it will use the MD plug?

somethin of a related question... how does the mounting for the xmdirect antenna work? is it outside the car? is it the same as the other receivers?

Where do you guys put your antennas, and how do you approach wire management?

 

Mine's on my dash. That's not the best place to put it signal wise, but looks wise it is.

 

Do you know when this will be available and what it will be called so we can look for it? Also, is this the product which will work in RX8's with firmware less than 9.55?

If this is a MD emulator, it should not matter what software version you have. The Mazda MD mech has always worked with any version.

 

truemagellen, can you confirm this for us? I'd love to avoid having to send the unit out for an upgrade.

I have been using the Neo Ipod interface for almost a year now. I have always been able to live with the price, and the limited functionality because the music sounded so good. The bummer is that the interface is so slow, that using the steering wheel functions have too uch lag. The way that you have to set u playlists is also kinda funky, and limited in being able to navigate your Ipod. I set mine up to allow me to use the Ipod's own interface for navigating. The unit also did not send data to the info screen in anyway that I could figure out BUT... like I said... a year ago it was the only way to go, and I will never regret being able to access gig upon gig of music! I hope this new interface will work as advertised. If so, there will be a Neo on ebay in the near future!.
