ipod sound quality on stock speakers

I remember when I first got a Pioneer MP3 head unit for my Civic '01, it sounded really good on stock speakers after adjusting the equalizer. It was amazing how it turned those mp3s into rich-sounding bassy music, well... not at deaf-level volume, lol. I was wondering for those of you who have the iPod with stock speakers, does it sound as flat as the stock RX-8 CD player, or a little better?

I'm deciding whether to get the Corksports HU kit or the iPod kit. If everyone says it sounds pretty good with the iPod on stock speakers, then I'll get that instead of waiting for Corksports to fix their bug with the heating and air controls.

I can only vouch for the non-Bose stock speakers since that's what I had... simply put, they sucketh immensely. Only replacing those with good quality speakers will give you a big improvement. Just gotta be careful what to replace them with.

I have the Bose and it doesn't sound good at all either.

It's definitely a little better than cd's because the ipod has a built-in EQ. However, the stock speakers make the sound pretty flat regardless. I suggest adding some bass if you haven't already, and replacing some/all of your speakers with something higher-quality. The stock units are really, really cheap speakers.
