What the heck is this?!? Looks like you can get all sorts of weird stuff for your 8 in Japan...

 

most people would call it a ski bag. but does not make a lot of sense in a rx8..

looks like a ski bag to me. its not that bad of an idea, if you look at the passenger seat which is upright, it doesnt seem like itll go past the front seats, so you and a passenger dont have to worry about it. i guess not so good for back seat passengers

 

Yep its a ski/pass thru bag.

 

The coolest JDM accessory that I would pay $$$ for is the remote start with control for defroster and I believe AC/Heat. I have had trouble translating the jp pages because they tend to either be flash based or the pdf catalog which doesn't always let me cut and paste text out of. I know there are aftermarket units that do this, but this one is build for the 8 and looks like it would be better integrated imo.

If you go on Mazda's Japan site and are able to find the accessory catalog there is a good amount of stuff they don't offer here. I wish they did as long as it applies for US use.

Dealer told me if I get a part # they will try to order it for me. Anyone have one? I can post with a link to the catalog if you are having trouble finding it.
