Just installed Infinity Basslink 2 Sub
Well I just came back from the car audio shop that did the install and everything WAS great, even the dude at the shop was impressed. However, after about 3 minutes of driving the Sub just turns itself off, the power LED is still on but there is no output from the speaker. I tried just using the stereo with the engine off and the Basslink seem to do just fine (about 10 minutes of testing no shuting off). But then, when I turn the engine on and drive away after a couple mintutes no bass again.
I'm thinking this is either a problem with the speaker inputs (loose), or that the Bose stereo is sending some strange signal which causes it to shut off, or the 2 Ohm thing screwing things up...I don't know. I do know from this board that a bunch of people have installed the original Infinity Basslink in their RX-8's with no problems.
Any suggestions?

id have the shop check the conection for the 'remote power on' it might be taped into the wrong source.
The remote power on is a 12v switched power source, meaning that it only has power when the car is running, IE like the radio...they radio only works when the car is in the 'on' position or when the car is running....
Things like CD changers, amps, subs all use a 12v swiched 'remote' input to turn them on/off, that way when you park the car and leave it, the amp or whatever doesnt stay on all the time and kill the battery. It sounds like whatever source they taped for it is on when the car is in the 'on' position, but it turns off when the car is running.
If it was a lose wire that is simply moving and causing the sound to cut out when the car is moving, I would think it would cut on and off, not just go off.
You say the power light stays on, Im not sure, but maby the power light is on if the sub has power even if the amp isnt on. The 12 remote power I was talking about is NOT the power for the sub, that comes from a + and - wire run from the battery. the remote power simply tells the sub when the radio is on, and trigers the amp to power up, and AMPLIFY the sound.
