The 12 hours was not required for the install. The 12 hours was stricly my fault for misreading the wiring diagram. I should have had it done in say 2 1/2 hours. I also took my time in taking the car apart since it was my first time.

We're still waiting for the pictures!

Where did you end up installing the display and controller?

Sorry for the delay on the pics. Had to hard wire a radar detector in the fiance's 3. Getting ready for tonight so Ill put the picks up tomorrow.

I put the display on the left side of the HU (ran the cable through the small grate in the dash.) Makes putting in the key a little harder than normal but it is still fine by my standards. I put the controller next to the heated seat switches.

Promise, pictures comin tomorrow.

HK display

I installed my HK display on the windshield, above and the right of the inside rear view mirror. It's small and unobtrusive, doesn't restrict my view, LEGAL, and easy to see without shifting my eyes from the view of the road (at least not too long).

I also put the controller on the Center Console, in front of the seat heater switches, just to the left of the EB.

Best device I installed on the car!

I wasnt happy with the sound I got from the fm modulation from the drive+play. I even had that adapter that hardwires through the antenna. I just installed the auxmod and I have to say this is the greatest thing I could have ever done. The sound quality is great and made it well worth it.

I now have the drive+play in my 8 as well as my fiance's 3 and we both love it.

I agree, the only thing about putting the display on the passenger side is sick but hard to hide the wiring

Windshield Display

The wiring from the Winshield location was EZ. I ran the wires under the headliner, down the pass. A-pillar, and through the wiring access hole on the pass side of the dash and ABOVE the glovebox. It took about 10 minutes.
