Just prototyped a new PDA/Cell phone mount for my 8!
I moved this from the general discussion forums.
It uses no attachments (screws. tape ect..) of any kind to the car. It wedges in between the textured rubber and the hard plastic part of the dash just to the left of the information display. It puts my PDA equipped GPS unit right at the 3 o'clock postion on the dash board.
I designed it with a base wide enough to mount just about anything. I modified my GPS mount and attached it with two small screws and nuts but you could use Velcro or anything you want.
I am going to take better pics tomorrow in the sun as these were shot in my garage. The mount can be moved up or down so it is adjustable and does not block any controls or displays.
Here is a pic of just the plate with my modified GPS mounting shoe attached
Here is a pic of it mounted in the dash. Now remember you can "slide" it up or down in the gap to any postion you want.
Shot from the side.
This a shot from the back side.

Prolly just a DIY for now. If you have any experience cutting and bending aircraft grade .030 T6 aluminum you should have no problems. I will see if I can find a way to produce them if the demand would warrant it.
