LCD Corruption
Now, I know I've read some people seeing this, but I cannot6 find the old posts about it. Has anybody gotten the LCD corruption thing going on, and just fixed it themselves? Was it a cable on the back of the radio or elsewhere? I figure it's on the stereo since I never got above the vents near the LCD, but I am alsmot positive I put everything on nice and tight before closing it up.
Thanks!
Thanks!

When mine does this, I just have to press around on different parts of the piano black panel until it stops. It usually only does it on extremely hot days, or once in a while if the temp drops considerably overnight. I know all of my connectors are tight, because I've redone them several times. After reading a few posts of this nature, I suspect that there's a weakness in the design of the central panel that allows one of the circuit boards to crack, or some wire to pull loose, during removal and reinstallation of the audio system. I haven't brought it up to the dealership yet, though.

After having it drive me bonkers (I noticed about how pressing on the front would cause it to go away/change) I took the stereo out again and saw that indeed, where the connector goes into the front of the unit is prone to cracking. A couple solder dots later it's working like new again.

Ok I just removed my stereo unit or tried to I just needed to pull it out to run some wires to that center spot below the volume control. And low and behold my display is doing what yours was. I don't know exactly what connector you are talking about. Is it the white conector on the left that goes to the face plate? I'm kinda lost. Plus I had a hard time gettting the A/C connector so I couldn't pull the whole thing out and inspect more.

In my case, yes. Aparently the force needed to pull the stereo out of the clips holding it in has caused some hairline crack in some paths on the board that little white plug goes into. If I push on the front of the stereo on the piano black part way at the edge, it sometimes stabilized and sometimes not.
Just goes to show that you need to be very carefull with this thing as I hardly used any force to get it out. Just wasted 25 minutes trying to find that hiden 10mm bolt.
Still unresolved as I had managed to fix one, but now more have popped out so I need to go see the dealer again.

I checked with ROsenthal and it's 295 for the faceplate and we *think* the board, but he's gonna let me know for asure today. Check the vendor forum for his update.
