lighted shift knob fuse

lighted shift **** fuse

I just got my lighted shift **** today. Biggest headache in the world. Copper wire broke at the base so I had to dissemble **** and sodder on new wires.

However, now that I have all the wires installed, the fuse keeps on busting. It uses a 1 amp fuse and I was unable to find any, so I tried 3 amps. However, it keeps on busting too.

Anybody have a similar problem or a solution? I think I'm gonna try to use a higher amp fuse, think that would work?

when u sodder the new wires on did u accidently made the wires touching makeing a short?

ahh crap, the sodder was in one lump connecting the two wires. i separated the sodder but it seems like the LEDs aren't working anymore.

you think i shorted the circuit board?

i don't know if this is connected, but now my dashboard is not detecting that my headlights are on when they are... so the headlight light is not appearing and i am not able to illuminate the blue dimmer lights.

whats up with this????

check the fuses pronto...you probably blew a few

your lighted shift **** is turned on by the headilght switch

LEDs are fragile...you may have destroyed them too if not you can solder on some new high POWERED ones which is the good news...but it will be one hell of a job

any idea which fuse is the fuse for the illuminated dashboard? I looked at the fuse chart and wasn't able to determine which one it was.

I have the Mazda Illuminated Shift ****. The real one from Mazda, not a rip off.. It uses 10 amp fuses, not 1 or 3. Maybe you got a fake?
