Is the little silver ring around the shift boot removable?

Good question. My 3 year old was messing around in the car the other day while I was cleaning and he was trying to pull it up. To no avail... If a 3 YO can't tear it apart, I don't think it was meant to be removed

Indeed I am. The shift boot ring, the air vent bezels, the door handles, and the little pieces of silver trim that run the length of the center console.
