You do realise that:

1.you have only been put on a waiting list and the product is not available yet?

2.the unit is designed to fit 8's with standard aircon controls and not climate control?

3.you've lost the hazard light button?

4.you've lost the ambient temperature display button?

5.you've lost all clock adjustment buttons?

Hmm..... looks a bit iffy to me.

hi

i don't know don't ask me any question i didn't make it ask this person

This picture is the prototype and represents what the finished product will look like except it will be black.

I need 60 people to start production. A fully refundable down payment of $ 25.00 is required to guarentee placment on the waiting list. The price will be under $ 100.00 which the down payment will go towards.

It looks like a scam.

The guy's either going to disappear with your money or you're going to receive a cheap piece of plastic that will make you lose some of the functions on your car and probably won't fit anyway.

Looks like you just got OWNED!!!! :D :D :D

Yeah, im with nj. Something just doesn't seem right about it. That pictures just screams chop! Doesn't it seem rather funny that someone created a dash replacement kit and noone on the board knew about it!

btw, I love the idea, and im down when someone does it for real! :D

Check the guy's feedback from buyers..... zero, he's never sold anything before.

If you check his website, you can't seem to be able to click on anything either.

the factory radio must be relocated to the trunk area by a reputable shop. you will not loose anything. and the good thing is the price

The other problem with this is... he didn't state a finish date. If it takes him 20 years to finish this, you are screwed.

Or he could just hold your money, keep saying he's working on it, and haven't reached 60 people like he stated... you're screwed.

This is a pretty good scam if it is one, since you will never be able to get your money back... under his listing, no where does it state a finish date. Thus if you try to reclaim this on Paypal, you wont be able to.

The big kicker is... why hasn't this guy posted ANYTHING on ANY RX-8 website. You would think to make something like this, he would want to promote a little... to get some feedback..etc? But nothing?

I messaged the person as if I was interested in it, and told him about this message board... and he simply said he doesn't have time to post on a message board about this, and he wants to keep this very limited. Uhhh...

Remember that people aren't going to jump on the bandwagon for something thats not garunteed. Even if you assure us it is. Remember, you have to crawl before you can walk. To sell these things it may require you to drop 7gs on it and hope for the best. If its legit, youll get your 60 folks or whatever your goal is.

yea

he got a good point there if you are asking like $25 from 60 people that is like $1500 why don't you borrow this from the bank or some thing i mean take it this way if you borrow like $1500 i will buy it for like $100 then you only have to sell like 15 what you borrowed from the bank why don't you do that i am sure you can borrow or have $1500 if you can afford a brand new rx-8

Do I detect a hint of "buyers remorse"?

one of the replies mentioned about the factory audio relocation to boot.... now here are some questions...
1. would mazda warrant such exercise?
2. what's the estimated cost for such relocation?
3. how would you mount the factory stereo in the boot?
4. how will it be fitted? same backing connections?

also, what type of plastic will be used? can it stand the heat during summer? and as NOJ00C stated.... what happened to other controls? sounds like it is an unplanned mod.

i understand what you are trying to do, but there are other ways around it. the perfect example is to get the prototype ready and have it fitted on your 8 or your first cunstomers 8, then show it to other 8 owners. trust me, if it is impressive, everyone in here will know about it, then there will soon be your first 60 deposits.

plan it right to save yourself lots of hassles
