Looking for the best radar detector
#26
About a year ago, I bought the Escort passport 8500 X50. Not bad but I wasn't impressed. Soon after that, I ordered a V1 unit (returned so it was 10% off, and I got it within 1 week!). I still have the V1 unit and it really is that much better than other detectors. The arrows and bogey counter are priceless. It helps to know where to look when you get a signal. However, even the best detector doesn't protect from Laser. I also installed the Blinder M20 laser jammers in the front grill and Veiled the headlight. Check out the following link for pics...

RMR for $42?!?
I just found a Rocky Mountain Radar detector for $42 (http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...060&adid=17662).
I don't know if this shows Buy.com is a scam or that RMR is a scam, but a >$300 radar being discounted that much sets off alarms for me. Maybe I'm just trying to justify spending ten times that on my V1, but this would make be nervous if I had bought a RMR instead. I don't think I would trust a $42 radar detector.

Here are some videos of all RMR products not jamming anything:

Just bit it and bought the BelPro RX65 for $270...question...at my area, is the X-band even used at all??? Stupid things go off every once in awhile as I cruise pass cities...also, the radar doesn't go off until a copper actually USES the gun, right? I saw some parked, but the radar didn't go off at all..had an actual copper sitting and pointing the gun in traffic, but it didn't go off..I'm assuming that he was just scaring drivers to slow down...

Of course detectors might not work too well after exposure either.
