Hey guys, I have been reading the posts for the iphone connections and to be honest I am still very confused. I want to hook up my iphone to my rx8 so that it can 1) be charged, 2) listen to the music, and have full steering wheel control and if possible have the display show up on dash, and lastly 3) talk on the phone through the factory speakers, to have handsfree talking especially with the new law in Philly. If anyone knows of any hook up could you please let me know? thanks I would really appreciate it!!

 

I think the newest replacement HU's can be hooked up to the Iphone. You'll have to search around on spec sheets to find out. Kenwood, Alpine.

This does mean that you would be replacing the factory head unit with an aftermarket which also means you'll be buying the corksport (my personal favorite) or Metra dash kit for the rx8.

 

None of the iPod/iPhone integration modules for the stock headunit are going to transfer phone calls over the factory speakers, but will do all the other functions you requested.

Newer Pioneer's will also work with the iPhone. Older ones had issues, but the new F90BT line shows it right on the box. This will do all the functions you need.

Damn we need to get that FAQ updated.

I was thinking of buying the Pioneer DEH-710BT for use with my iPhone 3G S. I know it allows for Bluetooth calls and supposedly streams music from the phone. I was wonder if it only streams the MP3's stored on the phone or if it can stream audio from Pandora, Sirius, AOL Radio... Any ideas?
