Same problem. One 12" in a large vented design box.... it moves A LOT of air. I've tried wedging cardboard up in the trunk lid. No improvement at all.
And sound deadening won't always help with rattles. Infact, rarely. It is used mainly to keep road noise down. Rattling is ....obviously.....two pieces vibrating against each other. Unless the sound deadening just happens to be wedged between the offending pieces or simply the added weight of the deadening was enough to cure the vibrations.... you're not going to be happy with the result.

Ngo - its actually called "Dynamat" and yes it will help.. but I think what yush is having is the same thing i had - its where the back of the trunk lid (the part closest to the car when the trunk is open) is rattling against the trunk itself on the "outside" of the weatherstripping... right where the trunk lid meets with the rear window... you need to find a way to pad the very edge of that trunk lid and the car - maybe put some dynamat in there or something

When i had my subs the trunk rattled right near where it is closest to the back windshield. When i pressed down on the trunk near the back it stopped. So what i did was get a rubber mallet and pounded the back (where the weatherstripping attaches) up so it would put more pressure on trunk lid. Stopped most of the rattles and there are no negative effects. Also found some rattles from the retaining clips that hold the top of the back seats (2 on each seat). Those rattled really bad and it sounded very tinny/metallic even though they are plastic. Dynamat in between the plastic and metal and no more rattles.

^^ I know what you are saying firebirddude. I just had some extra dynamat because i did the whole rear deck, because of the new 6x9s I put in. If I didn't use the Dynamat then i propably would have used electrical or duct tape in layers, something with a bit of rubbery consistency not carddboard. Or maybe some tape AND cardboard, makes it thick and rubbery. Ehh, anyways there are alot of options to stop rattles but IMO dynamat works really well for most of them.
