Nice, clean installation. It's hardly noticable. Is it a do it yourself or pro install? Costs installed?

Did it myself hardest part is drilling new car lol.Anyway i got the combo from radarbusters for like 800 bucks. They have a cheaper version for like 604 that is almost the same thing. The combo also comes with a escort 8500 which is about the best radar detector can buy.

OT: sorry to say, I bought the escort 8500 a couple of years back and it didn't do squat to keep me from getting ticketed.

She got me on radar/laser gun on a clear straightaway with over a mile of plain land, no building obstructions.
I was driving my AUDI TT on PCH along the shore, going north from Seal Beach into LA. She was parked off-road and it was dark. After a mile of clear straight-away, I got to a stoplight and after a few moments, she was right up on my *** with her lights flashing.. I had passed her and the radar didn't even peep.

Pathetic too, because I was going 65 in a 60mph zone. Sucks. The cop even berated me with her stupidity by telling me "when the needle gets to the number 7, pass the red it means your going too fast". haha... I said, "you realize you're pointing at the tachometer???" Stupid wench.

"Best" of luck with your radar detector.

I think it's the other way around man..
now the friggin' cops are gonna dress up like terminators driver however they want (they do that already) and shoot bad people and illegal aliens just for the fun of it.

Mikeb wants them to retract for total stealth :D

I must admit though, I'd be worried about having them on view for other reasons...

Squid radar detectors dont do **** for laser and i would like to see the 8500 a couple years ago cause its only been out about 6 monthes.I guess it coulda been An older model but anyway thats what the blinder is for BLINDER is for it jams laser returning to the gun for a proper reading and laser being regulated by the food and drug admin. its totally legal.

Maybe where you are, but not in California, at least.

There are several states, counties, and locales where they have made laser jammers illegal. Even if you live out of state and drive in one where jammers are illegal, you can have problems. For example, in Virginia, if a radar or laser detector or jammer is within reach of the driver, it is illegal, even if you are not using it. In other words, if Squid drives his car with that setup through Virginia, that blinder can be confiscated even if he isn't using it.

I also put the blinder on my rx8. Installed in the identical location.

I haven't been hit with laser so far, so it hasn't ever gone off. But ever since I got that one a few years ago when the guy pinned me from really far away with the laser, I hope this will stop it. I didn't install the LED so I wouldn't have to drill in the dash, just the audio. It makes such a piercing noise that I'm sure I'd notice it.

ever wonder if the cop really was using radar? I have contested every single ticket (as the only tickets i get are speeding fines) in court. I have yet to pay an actual fine, I get off with no points, no trafic school and just have to pay the court fee. Sure you can call it luck, but there are very strict rules police have to follow when using radar, and a lot of times they dont. In fact one time i was 'clocked' and given a ticket, i went to court to fight it (with legal help) and paper work showed that the officer that pulled me over didnt have radar in the car and hand checked out a hand held unit that day. So basicaly the way it went was : cop is looking for speeders, sees a young guy in a caged miata, so he writes me a ticket for speeding. Im not sure what speed i wasnt going, but it wasnt that far over the limit if I was indeed speeding.
