If you wanna help figure this out without a module that'd be awesome! Who knows, maybe we could figure it out so you could sell yours to the unsuspecting people of the world ;-)

Would appreciate all the help I could get on this project! Hoping to help the other cheap-mod loving RX8 owners of the world...And I would love to actually get beers some day.

ill be doing an "aux in" mod on one of these units without the tape mecha in the next couple of weeks. i can let you know how it goes. the below unit is the one ill reccommend to the owner.

the install was very easy, the syflex plugged into the port where the tape mecha would have been if so equipped. didnt even have to take the radio apart to do it!
this board was needed on this unit because there wasnt a tape deck there to begin with, so the board was need to 'trick' the processor into thinking a tape mech was there and activate the audio in's.
if your unit is already tape deck equipped and you are willing to sacrifice it, then you can 'jack into' the existing tape mecha audio ports by severing the existing audio lines and soldering an extension cable at those points . run it to a remote mount 3.5mm aux in accessible somewhere in the vehicle. to activate the new port, just insert a dummy tape.

Hoping to start working on this soon, also want to get a "Stealth box" made for that little cut out in the trunk of the RX8 also, I think that would look pretty shnazzy.
