Can I use that stuff on the shiny part of the stereo to get rid of scratches?

I just polished out a small swirl scratch w/ Meguiars X today - I used two separate terry towels - one for application and one to wipe it all off. I followed it up with a pass with Meguiar's quik interior detailer wipes to bring back the shine.
