metra kit and axxess steering wheel
I have the metra kit along with the Axxess steering wheel control module. However, there are no pins in the metra kit's harness for the axxess wires.
The instructions for it says the wires need to be connected to pins 1N and 1P of the harness but my metra harness has no pins/wires in those positions.

I have the instructions for the RX8 from the ASWC website, and it says to install it like I said in my first post with the 1N and 1P pins of the vehicle's harness which plugs into the harness provided with the metra kit.
So I would have to cut those wires from the factory harness that plugs into the metra harness so I can attach the axxess wires to them, but I really would rather not have to cut wires from the factory harness.
Here are the instructions:

Maybe this is semantics, but you don't need to cut the wires. You need to strip back some insulation, wrap the wires from the ASWC on the exposed copper, and solder, then tape.
You could also use t-taps, which are easier, but less reliable. I have used them in temporary installations with no problems, but I can't vouch for them long-term.

Axxess / ASWC Connections (Manufacture date 5/7/12)
1) Connect the Black wire of the ASWC to ground. You may use the same grounding
point as the aftermarket radio.
2) Connect the Red wire of the ASWC to a 12 volt accessory wire, one that turns on and
off with the ignition key.
3) Connect the White/Green wire of the ASWC to pin 1N of the vehicle. (RED/BLACK (1N) of the FACTORY HARNESS in the car itself.)
4) Connect pin 1P (GREEN/WHITE) of the vehicles harness to Ground.
5) All other wires on the ASWC please tape up, they will not be used.
Auto Detects within 10 Sec.
