How's the sound from the Bose speakers with the adaptor? Is there any major difference or any problems?

Bose speakers & first problems emerge

Bose speakers through the Alpine IVA-W505 sound at least as good as they did with the factory radio. I would argue even better since the new head unit has much better ability to tweak the audio settings to produce crisper highs, weightier lows, and a solid mid-range.

Last night my heads up display went epileptic after first turning on the ignition. I killed the ignition, waited a few minutes, restarted and everything returned to normal except now my steering wheel controls periodically stop working. I plan to dissect tomorrow and re-check all connections.

Looks good Flyboy, hey anyone else who has the kit having fitment problems with the emergency light? when i install it to the kit the button wont push in and out freely, may have to file down some to get the button to push in and out smoothly, its fine out of kit but when it is in the kit i push it in and it gets stuck and wont come back out.

Is the Alpine a IR remote, or a line in remote? I couldnt program the damned steering wheel controls to save my life tonight... What wire did you tap?

looks awesome indy...is the install very straight forward like plug and play? or is their sodering involved? Also does the kit come with everything you need right out of the box? If someone feels kind enough to do a DIY i know alot of us would be very appreciative...

No soldering.. but you need to know how to crimp wires.

It is very easy to install. No wires to cut on your OEM harness, although you have to cut a bit of plastic. When I get home from work I will scan the whole manual for you, it is very easy to follow.

i've also seen problems with a corksport kit with the hazard light button. i forgot what was done to fix it.

is the plastic you cut the tabs on the climate control buttons like the ones you cut on a corksport kit?

do you have to take apart the circuit board on the back of the faceplate of the OEM stereo?

yes, you have to disassemble the radio's circuit board in order to remove all of the needed harnesses that will be reused, along with the hazard switch. as far as the cutting goes, the modifying is actually on the lower part of the dash behind the radio.

what are your plans for the Nav screen? - Mazda will soon be releasing an updated Nav program to replace the original 2D piece of **** program. Im going to use that as a separate nav, and Im going to use an AVelectronics video input for the rear cam and ability to port video on to the top screen.
whats under the ashtray cover?
An ashtray....lol... its just a piano black ashtray cover
what shift **** is that? Momo Raptor CF
whats on your floormats? 40th Anniversary Rotary Engine floor mats available from Mazda....

Keep em coming =)

I had no issues with the hazard button. Dropped perfectly into place. And I believe those tabs would have to be cut to install on ANY kit.

Where did you hear about the new Nav software from Mazda? Any idea of when it will be released?

And the dead hooker

That install looks great.. I can't wait for mine to come in now!! This will be my first time to ever do a stereo install so I'm pretty excited and nervous at the same time. I'm looking forward to meeting that one particularly annoying screw face to... err hand to face

can anyone vouche that the HG goes with the interior scheme more than the flat black one? I was thinking maybe flat black because my ashtray is not glossy? anyone with thoughts? or maybe to keep it jazzed up with the HG so it looks better quality? im open for suggestions thanks.

Also indy, are u pleased with the fitment? I mean no major gaps or anything such as that? thanks for your prompt repsponses for us.
