DeViLbOi: A little search goes a long way.
http://www.installer.com/cars/by_car.php?carid=6256
But no I have not heard of anyone here ordering from 12vtoolbox. So no clue if they're good or bad. I was just curious, where else did you find these for $50 more?

$20 More
$50 More (Single DIN)
And as of yet other more trusted resellers of Metra Kits (Circuit City, Best Buy, Crutchfield, J&R Music, etc) don't have them. But if you guys trust Installer.com...HELLO Birthday Present!

i think people need to read more in the thread about the steering wheel adapter lol the same question keeps coming up, "does it have adapter? does it have adapter?" the answer is NO!!!! lol, i think everyone got confused because on page 4 zoomzoom2004 said, states installation includes bose adapter and steering wheel adapter i think thats why everyone thinks and is asking if the wheel adapter comes with it, again it does NOT come with the kit.
"As promised, pics of my Alpine IVA-W505 installed with Metra flat black dash kit. Installation includes Bose adapter and steering wheel control adapter. My installer said that the kit looks like it was made for the 505 - a perfect fit. Check out the customized text on the heads up display...

Here's a video on You Tube. Not the SWIPS, but might help:

Here's PAC's online programming help for the RX8:

Yeah.. you can't just plug it in and hope it works. You have to program every button. I really think it's dumb that they still have this archaic programming setup. They should just allow you to plug the device into a computer for programming. Or at least put a small LED display on the device. I mean they charge like $50+ for it and can probably produce them for less than $5.

rollerbldes.... you must really think i am dumb as a box of hair... Do you honestly think after all this I would just "plug it in and hope it works"...
If anyone has any REAL suggestions on what I may be missing to make this work.. yes, i have programmed it to version 3, I am using pin 9 on the harness, yes, it is plugged in to the HU... I even read that you need to have the car running in order for it to register the proper resistance....

wow, this thing looks amazing! glad you guys are having success with it.

Heck.. you never know man! I've met some brilliant people who miss the most obvious things.
Anyway I would follow firebirdude's idea and reprogram the device from the beginning. One thing to try is to only assign one function to each button and skip the rest.

Have you metered the wire that you tapped at pin 9? This should read different resistances when you press different buttons on the steering wheel. I would try that just to make sure that they have the right one listed.

In case anyone is interested I have the manual for the 95-7510 uploaded. What is that trim for clearance of 99-7510 part? It looks shady. And whats with the deal on the OBD-II?

It's just for if you have a navigation system that requires a vehicle speed sense (vss), and reverse wire to be connected. Although, if you have a manual transmission you will have to grab your reverse wire elswhere (green/red at the rear tail lights is what my techsoft is sayng). Also, there is a speed sense wire in the radio harness as well (should be green/white).
This is more of a convenience than anything because it takes the information from the obdII, sends it into the interface module, and cnverts it into the outputs that are needed for your nav system without having to make connections all over the car.....instead it gives you all of them behind the radio.
Also, if anyone is having issues finding a kit that is available, pm me cause i have some on the way to my shop and can get you a better deal than what you are finding on these other sites.

I'm definitely going navi on mine. So the speed sense and parking brake are a boon. Actually, I probably want to bypass the parking brake sensor anyway. Hopefully the reverse sensor isn't needed. I would assume that is just for people with rear view cameras.

Yes bypass parking brake will enable video on some units. And yes the reverse is needed for rear view cameras only.

Yeah you got to cut a bunch of trim to get the black box that comes with the kit to fit in the center console that was a pain, would of been nice if they would of just gave you more slack so you can put the box anywhere you want but you cant put it anywhere, it goes (for single din) right under the pocket tray, the ac fan and heat controls plug into it and there is no slack, that part sucked big time

Funny. I didn't have to "trim" anything for my kit. Sure as hell didn't have to sand and paint it either.
Also, having to use those "Axxess" boxes weekly.... I wouldn't trust them in my own car as far as I could throw them. Honestly, overall, I'm just breakin your guy's *****. The end results some of you have looks very nice. And it was just under half the cost of mine. But I KNEW this type of stuff would happen. Metra is not good with anything except basic square shaped generic finish kits. (Even in those, the instructions are full of misprints and sometimes completely incorrect)
EVERY SINGLE specialty kit they produce like this is cheaply made and looks mediocre at best. The Mazda 6 kit is cheap feeling and looks barely adequate. The kit for the Ford Taurus is a complete embarrassment. I'm ashamed to show that to a customer. I always hoped for the best with this kit, of course, but it didn't surprise me one bit when you guys started have issues.
And flyboy, I'm 1000% sure the car does not having to be running at all during the programming sequence. If you're positive you have followed the included directions perfectly, you have a bad adapter. I know you're plenty competent and savvy to install this. If you've tried multiple times without success, you must have faulty equipment. What else is left.

i dont know about cutting trim for the double din, i know for sure for the single din tho, i would imagine you would have to for the double to tho because with a double din deck where else would you put that box? you would have to cut the trim to get the box under the trim to fit the kit in the console. because the wires on the factory radio for the fan and heat controls are very short so the box has to be right up next to those wires to plug in other wise you cant plug them in, as for issuses i didnt really have any, just wished they gave more slack, all in all i am very happy, finanly product came out really good. well worth the $
and as for flyboyindy i dont believe the car has to be running to program it, i didnt have my car running to program it, it just tells me to turn the key to acc to program it not to actually start the car and run it, but maybe our adapters are different and require different install instructions.

I found a place that has 11 (2 HG and 9 Flat) in stock. The number is 520-272-4781 ask for Robert. The company is http://absolutesoundsystems.com/
I had placed an order with installer.com but was told "next week" too many times, although installer.com was 10 bucks cheaper.
