Metra kit update (need cable? look here)

Metra kit versions
FYI - there are two versions out there that are current. Version 1.5 is glitch-free, and version 2.0 works with a newer hardware version that supports overseas Auto HVAC systems (as well as the manual US ones). You can't update a 1.5 board to 2.0, and there is no reason to do so.

Did you see my previous post? I moved the ground to a bolt inside the engine bay that had other ground wires going to it. Does it make more sense to drill my own hole separately? Or am I out of options besides changing the (presumably) blown pico fuse or GLI's?

Sometimes moving the ground can help, but I haven't heard of that being the case in the RX8. There's nothing wrong with your headunit. There's nothing to replace. This is a common problem seen in all makes and models of cars. You can either increase the voltage on the RCAs, lower the RCA impedance, or lower the noise floor in the car's electrical system. Those are the only things that will effect your final outcome. Obviously altering the RCA impedance is out of the question. Using a line driver to increase the RCA voltage is both cumbersome and is really bringing a gun to a knife fight.
There's simply too much noise from other, non-audio, electronics in the ground. You can try running the ground clear back to the battery, but I honestly don't think that will solve your problems either. The power on the RCA outputs is simply too small and there's simply too much noise. Either go with an aftermarket amp or rewire using the resistor pad method. Or you can just forgo the resistors like Munchy. If you're willing to deal with it for a bit, I'll make a PCB with the resistors and speaker wire connections. Friggin connectors are taking forever to get to me. Damn Chinese parts suppliers.

Metra kit HELP!
I successfully installed mine plus the steering controls and everything is working perfectly fine. but I'm having a BIG situation... The Manual included with the kit says to plug "the factory" LCD display cable on the back of the axxess unit but the cable end plug is BIGGER than the axxess port where it's supposed to fit.
Does anyone knows if there's maybe an adapter or something??? I can't stand not having the LCD screen display anymore
