I don't think the update will solve your problem. Ever since inception of this kit there has been no issues related to not being able to control the A/C. You could always control the A/C, just the LCD display was messed up. If you can only blow hot air I'm 99% certain that it is because the kit was not designed for an automatic A/C car. You need the Kanatech/Corksport kit which has support for automatic A/C.

ok now I finally today got the LED problem after all this time. AC and everything works, everything works as before, just now the LEDs on the AC controls don't change to indicate what my settings are, and the temperature display is frozen at what it was last night. This sounds like the original problem everyone was having when they first got the kit. Dunno why it took so long for it to show up with me.
Just want to make sure I am still on the list and see where the cable is at now. Peace all.

You were yes. But kijpipudht was #1 on the list and he had me temporarily skip him for personal reasons. So now he is getting the cable. He will then send the cable to you.
Also, the cable was in Oregon and kijpipudht is in California. If I didn't do it this way it would have to go to the east coast then back to the west coast.
---
I am in the process of moving right now but I will still maintain the list. If you have a question about the update process I may be a bit slow in responding.

Okay guys, I have a problem. I have the cable and the box out of the car ready to do the update, but I can't get the damned software to cooperate.
I downloaded the webxpress updater and installed it. It made me restart my system. Once it restarted and I tried to run the program, it "found a newer version of the program" and updated itself.
I ran the program, which then created the bootloader program.
I connected the USB cable, was prompted for 2 drivers, both of which I installed from the "XP drivers" folder in the USB bootloader program files folder.
Now comes the issue. The instructions say to activate the USB Bootloader program by going to start, all programs, usb bootloader.
When I do this, the system says that it is searching for usbbootloader.exe. It then says the shortcut has been changed or moved, and I cannot go any further.
I looked in the program folder for USBbootloader and there is NO .exe file inside.
I originally tried this procedure on my laptop. When it failed to work, I brought the board inside with me and used my PC, which produced identical results. Seems like I must be getting an incomplete download file or something?

Yeah.. try running the webxxpress updater again. The bootloader should be in C:\Program Files\USB Bootloader\USBBootLoader.exe
If you still can't find it I can zip my USB Bootloader folder and send it over. You'll just have to unzip the folder and run the exe file inside. I'm not sure if this will work though, so try looking first.

I've done the download 3 times on each computer, and I get the identical file each time. I just have no executable. If you can attatch it here that might be helpful for others in the future, otherwise you can email to kevin@rotaryresurrection.com

I can't attach it as it is too large. Here is the link to download it.
http://ggforlife.com/files/USB%20Bootloader.zip
Looks like they pushed out a new update for something. (Not for us) That could have messed with the folders. =/

Thanks for the upload. I was able to use it to get the update done.
I think what I am going to do is put the install files onto a CD and include with the cable for future users, since I cannot for the life of me get the download from the site that includes the necessary file. I tried on a third computer and still did not have the file, before using the one you provided.
Also, assuming everything works normally for me when I put the board back into the car (here in about an hour) then I will be ready to ship the cable to the next person. Please PM me with the info.

Ok I have the cable. Got it in the mailbox today. My car is at the dealership getting the "fishbowl tail light" problem fixed. It was supposed to be done today, but the guy called me and said mazda apparently changed their bulletin. Used to you only had to change a rubber seal or something, and now they have to also change some kind of padding, which he said they needed to ship overnight to the dealer. So they say my car will be done by noon tomorrow. So I won't be able to do the update and send the cable on till tomorrow. Sorry for the extra day.

update complete
PM sent!
I just finished the update. There was one hitch:
When I ran the bootloader and then connected the box it said "updating from version 1.0 to version 1.4", then it did nothing for a while, and finally said, "block communication failure", and that was it. No hints or help. So I figured the next thing to try would be force the update. So I checked the box and this time the bootloader uploaded the firmware to the axxess box. Last to double check things I ran the bootloader again and plugged in the box. It said, "version 1.4 newest firmware already installed, canceling download." So it looks like it worked despite the initial snag and did install 1.4.
I put it back in the car and everything seemed to be working fine. Let me cross my fingers for no more entering the Matrix!
Also I'm happy about how easy this was. Didn't have tear down everything or even take out my HU. The box was just right inside the dash underneath it. The only thing I had to do was pull out the metra faceplate and unplug the plugs from the axxess box. I didn't even have to unplug the Fan/AC/Temp comtrols from the metra faceplate, which can be a bit of a pain when switching out the HU.
So that was pretty sweet; took like 15 minutes the whole thing!
Thanks to roller for sending this around.
cheers

Great to hear. If Zumn is the last one, I can just get the cable back from him locally. Glad everyone found this useful.
If anyone else needs the cable let me know.
